About you: A chemist by background, I offer significant process improvement and change management consulting experience. I started my career working for AstraZeneca and gained my Lean Sigma Black Belt accreditation whilst working there. After completing a part time MBA, I changed career and became a consultant working for General Electric in their Healthcare advisory business, where I became an expert practitioner in their change management methodology, Change Acceleration Process (CAP). For the last 11 years, I’ve worked as an independent consultant and have designed, led and delivered numerous transformation programmes across multiple sectors, particularly Life Sciences and Healthcare, but also in the Legal sector, Utilities and Oil and Gas. A feature of the work I have done with clients is not only working with them to deliver sustainable change, but to transfer skills so they can make improvements themselves. I have supported clients to achieve varying levels of Lean Competency System certification and I employ a "work with", not "do to" approach to client work. I have delivered projects both on-site and entirely remotely and have also employed Agile approaches to project management and solution development and implementation.

I offer a range of capabilities and am an expert practitioner in Lean methodology and change management. I offer a rounded skill set including problem solving, facilitation, project management, stakeholder management, data analysis, Agile, training design, delivery and coaching. The work I have delivered with clients has built internal capability, improved process speed, quality and costs, and released people capacity, Some examples of my work are below:
– Created a capacity model for a Quality Control department to understand the impact of upscaling operations from an R&D to Commercial environment
– Improved site wide Environmental Monitoring in a Biopharmaceutical company: 24% reduction in samples taken; 405 working days saved per year and total cost savings of £102719 per batch
– Increased plan attainment from an average 78% to an average 88% at a global Oil company’s storage facility.
– Designed and delivered a programme to build a Quality Improvement (QI) capability for a UK Healthcare regulator. Created a Change Management methodology and worked with client digital team to design, build, test and implement a database to capture improvement ideas and track them through the 5-step QI methodology
– Reduced lead time by 59% whilst maintaining quality ad regulatory compliance in a Pharmaceutical laboratory process
– Met a 70% increase in demand with no increase in resources in a Pharmaceutical High Throughput Screening process
– Implemented Lean within a division of the NHS in Scotland and reduced lead times and improved quality in information flow processes
– Led the deployment of Lean with a UK Healthcare regulator: reduced lead times, improved quality and reduced risk of information security breaches by implementing Lean tools
– Developed and implemented a portfolio prioritisation tool linked to corporate strategy and objectives to enable appropriate change project selection and resource deployment
– Implemented 5S in an Acute Medicine Unit
– Reduced length of stay on non-elective inpatient wards by an average of 10%
– Reduced the lead time of a press release process within the Legal sector by 20%
